The symposium began at 8:00 a.m. on Friday, November 21, 2008, with registration and continental breakfast. The talks were given in Conference Room A of the Carnegie Building on the campus of Howard University (see map and directions). The luncheon took place in the Reading Lounge of the Blackburn Center, located a short distance away on the other side of the quadrangle.
